SJ Montigny is a traditional winery with nature-oriented viticulture and modern cellar technology combined to create wines that express great originality and Terroir diversity. Our wines are as multifaceted as our vineyard sites: Bretzenheim, Bad Kreuznach, and Grebin.
Since 2009, our winery is at home in Bretzenheim, where our life and work are interconnected. If you want to produce wine with heart and soul, then these two things belong together. Most of our vineyards are just a stone’s throw from our cellar. We see each vineyard as an independent personality, which we treat with love and respect. We focus on the principles of nature-oriented viticulture. For us, the health of the soil is an essential factor, most importantly, the sustainable formation of humus, because vital vines can only prosper in healthy soil.
TASTING NOTES | Smoky, intensely mineral notes of basalt and struck flint accent ripe yellow cherry and grapefruit flavors here. A dry Riesling sourced from red-sandstone soils, it's full bodied and richly textured yet anchored by a zesty spine of acidity. A spicy, salt-edged sip that's ready to drink now but likely to hold well through 2026 at least.

TASTING NOTES | Rose petals, white peaches and lychees extend from nose to finish in this exceptionally light-footed, perfumed Gewürztraminer. Medium-sweet in style, it's exhilarating and fresh, with a pert spine of lemon-lime acidity and a lingering veil of sweetness on the finish. It drinks gorgeously young but should maintain peak through 2026.
