The Schlink Family has produced the blue bottle riesling for over 200 years coming from the Nahe in Germany. Wein-Bauer was the first to bring the blue bottle in the market over 30 years ago. The Schlink Family is now on its fifth generation of winemaking, with innovation and quality still at the forefront. Since 1886 the Schlink Family has been based in the heart of German wine country, the Nahe.
Nahe, located between Mosel and Rhein, is one of the smaller German wine regions. Its extraordinary range of soil types is second to none, and includes the entire rock cycle of igneous (volcanic), sedimentary (sandstone, clay, limestone) and metamorphic (slate) rocks. This is a peaceful landscape of vineyards, orchards, and meadows interspersed with cliffs and striking geological formations. Riesling, Müller-Thurgau, and Dornfelder are the most widely planted varietals.

The Schlink Family is now on its fifth generation of winemaking, with innovation and quality still at the forefront. Since 1886 the Schlink Family has been based in the heart of German wine country, the Nahe.
The Desire wine collection was the first brand extension from the famous winemaking Schlink family. The Schlink family, producers of the original blue bottle Riesling from the Nahe, expanded its winemaking expertise to the Mosel region of Piesporter in the early 1980's. It was there that they began creating wines with a new modern styled approach.
An extension of the Desire wine collection featuring the Piesporter appellation.
Eiswein, Beerenauslese and Trockenbeerenauslese wines.
The focus has been to work with small growers in various regions to produce a wine of exceptional value while keeping non-essential spending at a minimum, this way we can deliver the highest quality and without any sort of inflation of the pricing. The Kreuznacher Piesporter Wines are sourced from small contract growers encompassing a total of 20ha. All wines are hand-harvested, machine sorted, and then made in stainless steel tanks. Temperature controlled fermentation with selected yeast.

The Nahe region is named after the river that traverses the valleys of the forested Hunsrück Hills as it gently flows toward Bingen on the Rhine. It is a peaceful landscape of vineyards, orchards and meadows interspersed with cliffs and striking rock formations.
The Mosel River is the sinuous spine of the Mosel region, changing direction so often as it flows northeast toward the Rhine that it meanders nearly 250 km, to cover about half that distance as the crow flies. Together with its two small tributaries, the Saar and the Ruwer, the Mosel composes one wine growing region, considered the oldest in Germany. Countless finds, including several wine presses from Roman times, testify to the long history of viticulture here and the large scale of its introduction by the Romans.
