Steffen James Montigny followed his fathers footsteps, a French man who began cultivating vineyards in the 1950's. Steffen is focused on producing handcrafted wines made from their organic vineyards. His innovative approach has quickly lifted the the winery to international acclaim.
Since 2009, our winery is at home in Bretzenheim, where life and work are interconnected. If you want to produce wine with heart and soul, then these two things belong together. The vineyards are just a stone’s throw from our cellar. They see each vineyard as an independent personality, which are treated with love and respect. With focus on the principles of nature-oriented viticulture. The health of the soil is an essential factor, most importantly, the sustainable formation of humus, because vital vines can only prosper in healthy soil.

This bright-fruited semisweet Riesling opens on pleasantly candied notes of yellow cherries and honey tangerines. Light footed and bracing in acidity, it's a delightfully spry, invigorating sip with a lingering, lacy sweetness on the finish.

Bretzenheim belongs to the “Nahetal” winegrowing area, itself part of the Nahe wine region. Active in the village are 11 winegrowing operations, and the area of planted vineyards is 112 ha. The Nahe region is named after the river that traverses the valleys of the forested Hunsrück Hills as it gently flows toward Bingen on the Rhine. It is a peaceful landscape of vineyards, orchards and meadows interspersed with cliffs and striking rock formations.
