Bauer Haus

The Bauer Family has a deep rooted history of making wine in Weinviertel wine region of Austria. After two centuries of the family winery in Austria. In 1990, the Bauer family winery partnered with a variety of farmers located in the Rheinhessen, Germany to create "Bauer Haus Germany". The winery is committed to producing a modern style of German quality wines at an affordable price.

The wine label is inspired by the Burg Kreuzenstein Castle in Austria, located approximately 5 kilometers from the Bauer Family winery in Austria. This is an iconic castle that employed much of the families relatives throughout history and can be seen from the Bauer Family vineyards today.

ABOUT

The German word itself directly translates to mean ‘glow wine’ in English. This name comes from the red hot irons used to heat the wine when the drink first became popular hundreds of years ago. Today, this is the original German holiday drink of choice and the "Christmas Spirit" in a bottle.

TASTING NOTES

Red wine blended with cinnamon, nutmeg, and other natural spices.

Rheinhessen

Germany's largest wine region, Rheinhessen, lies in a valley of gentle rolling hills. While vines are virtually a monoculture in the Rheingau or along the Mosel, they are but one of many crops that share the fertile soils of this region's vast farmlands. Wine has been grown here on the left bank of the Rhine since the Romans, and the oldest document about a German vineyard location - the Niersteiner Glöck - concerns a wine location in Rheinhessen.
